Łukasz Bola is an Associate Professor at the Center for Brain Research and the Institute of Psychology at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. He studies the functioning and plasticity of the human brain, with a particular focus on brain plasticity in individuals who are blind or deaf.
He graduated in psychology from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw in 2014. He obtained his PhD from the Institute of Psychology at Jagiellonian University in 2018. He has completed research fellowships at University of Glasgow and Harvard University.
He is the author of numerous publications in leading international journals. He has received several awards for his work, including the Prime Minister of Poland’s Award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation and a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Science for exceptional young scientists. He has led several research grants, including an ERC Starting Grant awarded in 2024.
