Przemyslaw Zywiczynski

Przemyslaw Zviczynski deals with the evolutionary origins of language. He has devoted monographs to this topic: Evolution of Language (2015), Language Origins (2018) and Perspectives on Pantomime (2024), as well as numerous scientific articles that have appeared in Language & Cognition, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, Language & Communication, Journal of Language Evolution or Linguistics and Philosophy, among others.Przemysław Zywiczynski is the co-founder and long-time head of the Center for Research on Language Evolution at the University of Krakow. From 2013 to 2020 he served as vice president of the Polish Society for the Study of Language and Evolution, and since 2016 he has been a life member (Life Peer) of the Galton Institute. He is a member of the permanent organizing committee of the EVOLANG congress and is a co-initiator and member of the organizing committee of the regular PROTOLANG conference. He has managed projects funded by external sources (National Science Center, National Program for the Development of the Humanities).In his free time, he plays squash, does road cycling and walks with his dog Fram.
