Anna Siekierka

Anna Siekierka, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. is a chemical engineer and membrane technology expert at the Faculty of Chemistry, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. She earned her PhD in 2019 and her DSc (habilitation) in 2025 for her work on innovative electrodialysis and battery recycling. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor and the Principal Investigator of the prestigious ERC Starting Grant “Reheal4waste”, as well as several NCN-funded projects.

Her research focuses on electromembrane processes, selective ion separation, and energy recovery. She is renowned for her breakthrough studies on hybrid capacitive deionization for lithium recovery and ultraspecific membranes for metal recycling. Prof. Siekierka has held research fellowships at Deakin University, the University of Antwerp, and the Technical University of Liberec, and has delivered keynote lectures at major conferences like Euromembrane and IMSTEC.

Recognised as a TOP 2% Scientist (2024, 2025), she has received numerous accolades, including the FNP START scholarship and victory in Falling Walls Lab Wrocław 2023. She has co-authored over 40 publications (h-index 18) and is a board member of the Polish Membrane Society. Beyond research, she is a dedicated educator and an active science communicator in national media.
