May 22, 4 p.m.
For children aged 7 and older with their parents.
Hosted by: Grzegorz Sęk

What is a meteoroid and what is a meteor? What will we call an asteroid, and what is an impact crater? We will talk about the ablation process, learn about chondrites, achondrites and iron meteorites. We will look at photos of the Moon and a 3D model of the lunar crater Copernicus and compare it with the appearance of a meteorite crater in Arizona. We will learn the difference between meteoroid impacts on objects without an atmosphere (such as the Moon) and those that have one (such as the Earth).
