Archaeogeneticist Prof. Zuzana Hofmanová will talk about research that sheds new light on one of the most mysterious periods of our history – the time between the fall of the Roman Empire and the emergence of the medieval states of Central Europe. It is a period of conquests by the Huns, Avars and Slavs, of intense mixing of populations and cultures, and of the formation of ethnic groups and languages whose influence we still feel today.
