Why do the most advanced physical theories sometimes resemble metaphysical stories? Can science help us get closer to the mystery of existence?

These questions are answered by Prof. Marek Abramowicz, an outstanding astrophysicist and one of the most recognisable popularisers of science in Poland. In his books and essays, he combines the exactness of physics with the sensitivity of a philosopher and humanist. He shows that science – especially when dealing with black holes, gravity or the beginning of time – does not have to disenchant the world, but can make it even more mysterious.
