The natural world is a network of complex relationships – often invisible to the naked eye, but fundamental to the functioning of ecosystems. Parasites, symbionts, microorganisms – although microscopic, they shape the fate of their hosts, influencing their evolution, immunity and behaviour. We will talk about where cooperation ends and exploitation begins – and whether it is even possible to talk about ‘fair’ relationships in biology.
