A professor of science, she is an astrophysicist affiliated with the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, where she heads a research team on extreme astrophysical phenomena. She specializes in the physics of black holes, accretion disks, active galactic nuclei and gamma-ray flares. Her work focuses on modeling processes occurring in the most energetic and dynamic regions of the universe. She has authored more than 140 scientific publications, is a member of international research teams and a representative of CFT PAN on the National Council for Particle Astrophysics. She also served as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Polish Relativistic Society (2020-2024) and was involved in the Polish Astronomical Society. She received her PhD degree from the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and gained research experience at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, among others. She has been a professor at the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2011 and a titular professor of science since 2021. Her work combines cosmological scale with the precision of mathematical modeling, and her popularizing speeches bring the audience closer to the mysteries of the most extreme phenomena in the universe.
