Piotr Durka

A Polish physicist, he initiated Polish research on brain-computer interfaces in 2008, and continues to conduct it today at the University of Warsaw’s Department of Physics. Practical applications of this technology straight out of science-fiction movies include attempts to diagnose consciousness disorders and coma in patients of Warsaw’s Budzik Clinic and Pomeranian Medical University.
To ensure the availability and development of this technology in Poland, Prof. Durka led the establishment of the world’s first undergraduate neuroinformatics program in 2009, and BrainTech in 2012, which created a complete brain-computer interface based on proprietary hardware and software from scratch. More than AI, he believes in natural intelligence, in line with Richard Feynmann’s cautions from his Cargo Cult Science lecture. Details at http://durka.info.
