She earned a master’s degree in biophysics (medical physics) from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science at Jagiellonian University. Subsequently, she began interdisciplinary doctoral studies “Interdisciplinarity for Innovative Medicine” in chemistry and physics at the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Physicochemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Henryk Niewodniczski Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her doctoral project dealt with conformational changes in proteins that play an important role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases. She carried out part of her research at the University of Oldenburg and Yale Medical School. Paulina defended her PhD in September 2022. She also worked as a Data Scientist at a start-up dedicated to diagnosing the condition of the human heart. At Sano, Paulina will work on the application of data science in personalized medicine. In her free time, she loves to travel and expand her knowledge of how new technologies can support medical care.
