Scientific Director of the Human Brain Project, a ten-year initiative co-funded by the European Commission, which aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the structure and function of the human brain through interdisciplinary research at the intersection of neuroscience, neuroinformatics and artificial intelligence. Her research is focused on creating a three-dimensional atlas of the brain to contribute to both breakthroughs in the elucidation of cognitive function and the prevention of mental and neurodegenerative diseases. She is the author of more than 500 scientific articles published in the world’s most prestigious journals such as Science and Nature Reviews Neuroscience and cited nearly 50,000 times. She has been repeatedly ranked as one of the world’s “key players” in neuroscience research.
