Jędrzej Grodniewicz

Philosopher, assistant professor at the Copernicus Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Jagiellonian University.He works on topics in philosophy of mind, language, psychology and psychiatry.He received his PhD in 2020 from the University of Barcelona as a member of the LOGOS research group.His supervisors were Manuel García-Carpintero and Josep Macià, and his examiners were Sanford Goldberg, Peter J. Graham and Josefa Toribio.During his PhD, he was a visiting student at Rutgers University (mentor: Liz Camp) and the University of St Andrews (mentor: Derek Ball). Prior to that, he was doing a research project on the philosophy of language and mind under the Diamond Grant program. Even before that, he completed a master’s degree in analytic philosophy at the University of Barcelona and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy (as part of the MISH) at Jagiellonian University. He is the author of articles published in Review of Philosophy and Psychology and Synthese. His main research projects concern: (1) the nature and epistemic function of linguistic understanding, (2) the role of mental states in psychopathology and psychotherapy.
