Jean-Pierre Lasota

Theoretical physicist and astrophysicist, author of more than 250 scientific papers and several books. Honorary professor at the Institute of Astrophysics in Paris and full professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He headed the Department of Relativistic Astrophysics and Cosmology at the Paris Observatory for many years and was scientific advisor to the president of the French National Center for Scientific Research. He served on committees overseeing the construction and operation of the Virgo gravitational wave detector. He lives with his wife in Paris and Warsaw. During the festival, he gave a lecture titled “Coincidences walk on physicists.”
