Gilbert Daniel

Professor of psychology at Harvard University, science popularizer and columnist for the New York Times and Time, among others. He is one of the best-known researchers of the phenomena of affective forecasting (how we anticipate the emotional consequences of future events), social inference (how we perceive and understand the actions of others) and decision-making (considering, among other things, the likelihood of certain events occurring in the future). In 2014, Science magazine named him one of the 50 most influential scientists on social media. During the festival, he gave a lecture entitled “Happiness – what your mother didn’t tell you.”
