Bartosz Baran

He holds a master’s degree in biotechnology and a PhD in biological sciences.His doctoral dissertation (defended in 2023) was on the mechanisms of geometric cognition in insects. Bartosz has co-authored articles published in Animal Cognition, PLOS One, Insects, Frontiers in Behavioural Neuroscience, Journal of Pest Science, Open Life Sciences, Molecules, Zoomorphology, Scientific Reports, European Journal of Entomology, Acta Neurobiologiae Experimentalis and Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS). He led a project funded by the Diamond Grant V program and was awarded the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding academic performance. He is a corresponding member of the Polish Ethological Society and a long-time co-organizer of the Brain Awareness Week celebrations in Katowice. He collaborates with the team of Lars Chittka (Queen Mary University of London).
