Professor of legal sciences, specialist in criminal law. Since the beginning of his academic career, he has been affiliated with the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University, head of the Department of Criminal Law for many years, author of numerous scientific publications, commentaries, monographs and articles, honorary doctorate of Mainz University, Vilnius University and the Medical Academy in Wroclaw. Former chairman of the State Election Commission, judge and in 1993-1997 president of the Constitutional Court, former ombudsman (2000-2006). Grandson of lawyer Frederick Zoll, former rector of the Jagiellonian University. His son, Frederick Andrzej Zoll, is also a law professor.
