Tilbury John

British pianist, whose artistic development is marked by the names of many avant-garde composers of the second half of the twentieth century, but also famous improvisation concerts. He studied piano at the Royal College of Music and with Zbigniew Drzewiecki in Warsaw. During the 1960s, he was closely associated with the composer Cornelius Cardew and his Scratch Orchestra. He also plays and records the music of other composers such as Howard Skepmton, John White, and Morton Feldman. In 1968 he won the Gaudeamus competition.
