State of Emergency (dir. Jan Hřebejk, Czech Republic 2024, 100′)

Maliciously about the media, tenderly about love, humorously about everything – only Jan Hřebejk can do that! This time, the director tackles a very timely topic: the spread of disinformation and fake news. It’s a sharp satire on the media, which, by manipulating their messages, sometimes deliberately misleads the public. At the same time, the director explores the relationship of two people – a difficult one, as two very ambitious and strong personalities clash.
