Aneta Brzezicka

Dr. Aneta Brzezicka, Professor at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is a psychologist. She studies broadly defined neuroplastic changes in populations exposed to variables that modify behavior or important cognitive functions (primarily working memory). She directs the Neurocognitive Research Center, where she conducts research on interactions between the brain, gut microbiota, and cognitive functioning, among other things. She seeks to understand the electrophysiological basis of memory phenomena by analyzing data from intracranial recordings in patients performing tasks involving short-term and working memory.

A member of the European Dana Alliance for the Brain (EDAB). She is a scholarship holder of the Kościuszko Foundation and the Foundation for Polish Science. She is a two-time winner of the luventus Plus program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists. She is the author of numerous articles in prestigious scientific journals, such as “Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience,” “Frontiers in Psychology,” and “Cognition and Emotion.” He works in the Laboratory of Systems Neuroscience, headed by Dr. Ueli Rutishauser, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

At SWPS University, he teaches classes on the effectiveness of various forms of influence on cognitive functions and brain oscillations, as well as seminars on cognitive training.
