Prof. Paweł Golik, PhD, DSc, born in Warsaw in 1970. Geneticist and evolutionary biologist, professor at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, and at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences. Previously, he worked at the Center for Molecular Medicine at Emory University in Georgia, USA, and at the CNRS Centre de Génétique Moléculaire in Gif-sur-Yvette, France. He studies the mechanisms of gene action and conducts projects at the intersection of genetics and evolutionary theory. He is the author of over 70 original publications and co-author of the textbook “Molecular Genetics” (2012). In collaboration with the Faculty of Artes Liberales, University of Warsaw, he also participates in projects combining biology with the humanities and arts. A science popularizer, he chairs the Council for the Dissemination of Science, Polish Academy of Sciences.
