Karolina Safarzyńska

Karolina Safarzyńska is a professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Warsaw, specializing in complexity and behavioral economics. She earned her doctorate from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Her academic achievements were shaped by numerous research visits to international centers, including the Institute for New Economic Thinking at Oxford University, the Santa Fe Institute, and the Ostrom Workshop at Indiana University. She has also gained expert experience in international organizations such as the UN, the WTO, and the World Bank. In 2022, she received the National Science Centre Award (in the category of humanities, social sciences, and arts) for her work on climate change modeling within complexity economics.
