Polish prose writer, poet, playwright, essayist, columnist and publisher, winner of the Kościelski Foundation Award (1995), the Nike Literary Award (2005) and the Gdynia Literary Award (2010). He is the author of newspaper columns published in Tygodnik Powszechny, Gazeta Wyborcza, Tytuł, Ozon, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and other magazines. His books have been translated into foreign languages, including Belarusian, English, Finnish, French, Dutch, German, Russian, Norwegian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Italian, Czech and Romanian.
