Since the beginning of my career, my research has focused on Paleolithic settlements in Central Europe. During my master\u2019s studies at the Institute of Archaeology, Jagiellonian University, I specialized in the technology and typology of lithic tools. I expanded this focus during my doctoral studies at Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals, Polish Academy of Science, adopting a broader perspective that incorporated the analysis of faunal remains from archaeological sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After completing my PhD, I established collaborations with researchers from both Polish and international institutions, focusing on lithic artifacts and animal remains from the Pleistocene and later periods. In parallel, I have maintained an intensive fieldwork program, directing excavations at numerous Pleistocene sites across Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have served as Principal Investigator (PI) for several NCN grants, and in 2022, I was awarded the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant for the project ‘Exploring Mammoth Bone Accumulations in Central Europe’ (MAMBA). Currently, I am the Head of the Department of Vertebrate Zoology at ISEZ PAN and lead the Archaeozoology Laboratory at the Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
