Machine learning has led to applications such as ChatGPT, which are already changing the world. In turn, machine learning was led by the pioneering work of, among others, Terry Sejnowski, who figured out how computers can mimic the human brain. In the festival’s lecture, Prof. Sejnowski will share his unique perspective of one of the fathers of modern artificial intelligence and consider whether ChatGPT really understands what it says, why it “hallucinates,” and whether we should be concerned about it becoming too powerful.
